The chairman and CEO of London-based catering company WSH has been named as the new president of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH).

Alastair Storey (pictured) – who together with William Baxter founded BaxterStorey, now the largest independent contract caterer in the UK – will help shape the institute’s strategy over the course of his tenure.

He said: ‘The Institute provides a good forum for communication, camaraderie and finding out what’s going on in the sector. It is the organisation for managers in our industry and as such it’s important to make sure it’s promoted.’

Institute of Hospitality chief executive Peter Ducker added: ‘In promoting career-long learning and development and attracting new talent into our industry, we know Alastair will make a most valuable contribution to the Institute’s work.’

Training hundreds of employees each year, BaxterStorey’s Leadership Academy delivers the Institute of Hospitality Level 3 Management Diploma.

Mr Storey will officially assume his new position at the Institute’s AGM in June, taking over from outgoing president, Sir David Michels FIH.
