Offering 12-month apprenticeship placements across a range of hospitality disciplines at hotels across Scotland, the company guides the candidates toward Level 2 qualification, equivalent to five GCSEs at grade A-C.

Fully funded – including tuition fees and travel expenses – participants of the apprenticeship programme also receive a salary for the duration of their work.

More than 20 aspiring Scottish chefs have already participated in the scheme over the last three years, with 80% going on to receive permanent positions within Hilton Worldwide.

The title of Scottish Chef Apprentice of the Year went to Donald MacKinnon, 16, who spent his year training in Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre under the guidance of head chef Iain Hale.

Donald will now go on to take a permanent role as Commis Chef at the Glasgow waterfront hotel.

Apprenticeship positions include front office, food-and-beverage service, multi-skilled hospitality service, exercise and fitness, sales, and professional cookery.Applications are open until 30th September, and the programme starts on 25th October.
