The Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA) has appointed Donald Campbell to take over from outgoing chairman, Peter Lederer.

As director of sales at Inverarity Morton (IM) Ltd, Mr Campbell (pictured), was cited by The SLTA Chief Executive, Paul Waterson, as the prime candidate to enhance stakeholder relations and drive subscriptions over the 12-month tenure:

‘We were delighted when Donald accepted our invitation to become The SLTA’s 56th chairman,’ commented Mr Waterson. ‘He is a man with over 35 years’ experience in our industry, and I’m sure this appointment will be highly beneficial for both parties.

‘We are very much looking forward to working with Donald for the general good of our trade, and The SLTA in particular,’ he added.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Campbell said: ‘The SLTA is a national, not-for-profit organisation which relies on support from the trade. It is a well governed organisation and has a commanding voice in Holyrood, which has enabled it to successfully effect positive change to the benefit of the industry in Scotland as a whole.

‘We have the ability to be even more effectual but only if members of the Scottish licensed trade become members. Therefore, my chief priority during my tenure will be to increase the current membership at the SLTA.’

Outgoing chairman Peter Lederer will hand over the mantle at the SLTA Chairman’s Lunch on 19th of November.
