Chefs, owners and managers from a variety of Scottish businesses including cafés, pubs, restaurants, delis and guesthouses met with local producers last week to hear about plans for a new East Lothian food-and-drink initiative.

Over 100 organisations attended the networking event at Eskmills, Musselburgh, on 15^th November to discover more about the latest collaboration between producers and the Scottish hospitality trade.

The new initiative follows the introduction last June of a groundbreaking scheme voted for by producers across the region. The newly formed East Lothian Food & Drink Ltd provides a unique opportunity for local producers to build a more prosperous future for their businesses. Attending the event, Councillor John McMillan, Cabinet Spokesperson for Economic Development and Tourism at East Lothian Council, said:’I hope we can encourage other producers to join our pledge to make East Lothian the destination for food and drink in Scotland.’
