East Lothian Food & Drink Event Attracts Local Producers

Chefs, owners and managers from a variety of Scottish businesses including cafés, pubs, restaurants, delis and guesthouses met with local producers last week to hear about plans for a new East Lothian food-and-drink initiative.
Over 100 organisations attended the networking event at Eskmills, Musselburgh, on 15th November to discover more about the latest collaboration between producers and the Scottish hospitality trade.
The new initiative follows the introduction last June of a groundbreaking scheme voted for by producers across the region. The newly formed East Lothian Food & Drink Ltd provides a unique opportunity for local producers to build a more prosperous future for their businesses. Attending the event, Councillor John McMillan, Cabinet Spokesperson for Economic Development and Tourism at East Lothian Council, said:’I hope we can encourage other producers to join our pledge to make East Lothian the destination for food and drink in Scotland.’
