A popular Perthshire hotel has announced the arrival of a new head chef. The Atholl Palace Hotel, in Pitlochry, has welcomed Colin Masson as the new head of its culinary team.

With more than 35 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Colin (pictured) moved to the hotel from nearby Fisher’s Hotel. Having worked in some of Scotland’s most prestigious venues including Gleneagles, the Balmoral and the St Andrews Golf Hotel over the last three decades, he will oversee the introduction of a new menu to drive the use of fresh, local Perthshire produce.

‘I have been so taken by the abundance of great produce available in Highland Perthshire that I’m delighted to continue my career in this part of Scotland,’ he said.

‘Atholl Palace offers customers a unique view and backdrop as they dine, and I’m looking forward to working with my team to launch a brand-new menu which will continue to grow this hotel’s reputation for delicious Scottish cuisine.’
