CIS Excellence Awards Business Innovation sponsor, Bidvest Foodservice Scotland, has presented the Best Marketing Initiative Award to Scottish seafood export specialists, FAO27 Ltd, at the 14th annual Highland and Islands Food and Drink awards in Inverness.

Recognising the creativity, innovation, imagination and clarity that the company had demonstrated in their marketing strategy and campaigns over the past 12 months, the category saw entries from The Dunnet Bay Distillers, the Puffer Restaurant and Bar, and Applecross Smokehouse, the latter of which was highly commended.

Bidvest Foodservice Scotland’s General Manager Jon Mack (pictured second from right) said: ‘The awards gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in over 100 Scottish food and drink products across 13 different categories, and FAO27 Ltd’s well-deserved win is testament to the top quality products Scotland has to offer. I wish them all the best with their future endeavours.

‘As the sole foodservice company to sponsor and participate in the awards and with over 100 Scottish suppliers offering over 600 product lines – some of which are exclusive to Bidvest Foodservice Scotland – we are committed to growing our presence within the North of Scotland.

Our Scottish producers range from micro start-up businesses to large-scale national brands, reaching up to Orkney, over to the Isle of Lewis and down to Dumfries and Galloway. It was an honour to be involved in the judging process.

Created to encourage food-and-drink businesses to demonstrate collaboration and innovation, the awards aim to celebrate businesses excellence and achievements in the Scottish foodservice community.

Look out for Bidvest Foodservice Scotland sponsoring the Business Innovation Award at the 2017 CIS Excellence Awards. Entries open 9th January.
