Bidvest Scotland Grows Scottish Range Through Local Craft Ales

CIS Excellence Awards Business Innovation sponsor, Bidvest Foodservice Scotland, has announced the launch of a selection of locally produced craft ales and ciders. Partnering with selected brewers, the company will bring several new products into its portfolio of more than 500 regional Scottish products.
Head of Business Development, John Forteith, said: ‘After extensive research, the team here identified several brewers who offer an eclectic range of high quality ales, many of which have won a number of awards.
‘We offering a line of local ales that will allow our Scottish customers to offer a real point of difference.’
Extending as far north as the Highlands and Islands, suppliers include Thistly Cross Cider and Bellfield Brewery’s’ range of gluten-free ales. Covering everything from traditional and German wheat beers to classic pale ales, the range features emerging small producers such as Black Wolf Brewery, Windswept Brewing Co and the Isle of Skye Brewing Company.
Fiona Richmond, Project Manager at Scottish Food & Drink commented: ‘Consumers are seeking out the growing number of independent breweries across the country and there is an increasing demand for the Scottish craft beers they produce. The artisanal products contribute to the industry’s £14.4bn annual turnover and its contribution is only set to grow.’
The range will be displayed at Bidvest Foodservice’s Winter show on 6th October at Hamilton Park Racecourse.
