Independent insurance broker and sponsor of the CIS Excellence Independent Hotel of the Year Award, Bruce Stevenson Insurance, have announced their second year of support for the Hospitality Industry Trust, (HIT) Scotland.

In addition to conducting a free review of current insurance requirements and arrangements, without obligation, Bruce Stevenson have agreed to donate 20% of earnings to the charity from all business introduced. These funds will directly contribute towards providing scholarships, bursaries and other initiatives provided by HIT.

Since its inception in 1994, HIT Scotland has awarded over 1,000 emerging talent scholarships, including local, national and international hands-on experiences and courses at some of the world’s finest academic establishments. Working closely with further educational institutions to encourage and source new talent for the industry, the charity also provides bursaries and places on a bespoke student course at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland.

Founded in 1981, Bruce Stevenson Insurance is Scotland’s second-largest insurance broker, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders and the North East. The Chartered Insurance Institute granted Chartered Insurance Broker status to the company in 2010, a title held by fewer than 100 such firms in the UK.hit-scotland-logo

The firm was also a founding member of the UNA Alliance, which represents twelve of the most respected independent regional insurance brokers throughout the UK. Bruce Stevenson is highly committed to customer service, a commitment that has been recognised with a three-star Award from Customers in Service. Being an UNA member gives Bruce Stevenson increased negotiating power with insurers, as well as access to exclusive covers and policy wordings.

Andrew Adam, commercial director of Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers (pictured second from left with the company’s hospitality insurance team), said: ‘This is an important partnership for us, as we have many services that directly support the hospitality industry.’

David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland added: ‘We share the same values in providing the best possible services for the industry through our common goals. Bruce Stevenson have been very generous with their commitment to HIT Scotland and this has allowed us to provide more emerging talent scholarships this year.’
