This Christmas’s expected shortage of seasonal workers has caused such a panic among operators of all sizes, that a recent survey by Software Advice has identified recruitment as the single largest HR challenge currently facing SMEs in the UK.

Fortunately, GIG has a solution. A unique recruitment agency that uses technology to manage internal staffing pools and prioritise employee benefits, GIG supports organisations by providing properly qualified staff who arrive at work on time, in the right uniform and, crucially, with the right attitude. ‘We recognise the importance of staff benefits not just in our own company but for the thousands of workers on our books,’ explains GIG’s managing director, Antony Woodcock. ‘In addition to ensuring they have all the necessary documentation to work in the UK, we look after their holiday pay, their pension contributions and we provide constant training and support to ensure they all feel looked after and part of a team.’

Gig MD, Antony Woodcock: ‘We maintain the right level of employer care to ensure our candidates are happy at work’

And while the majority of agencies will only take on staff who can commit to a minimum of 40 hours a week, GIG are happy to offer work on a part-time basis, too.

‘We understand that everyone’s lives are different,’ continues Antony. ‘Consequently, we don’t enforce a minimum term on our candidates and we allow them to work their hours based on their own personal circumstances.’

From the client’s perspective, GIG’s clever tech allows for fluctuating daily employee numbers, differing pay rates and alternating shift lengths. ‘Employers and staff simply log their requirements and then candidates use our app to book themselves in for jobs,’ he adds. ‘For businesses in the hospitality sector, it can mean the difference between finding the right temporary staff and struggling to do so over the busy upcoming Christmas period.’

Visit or download the app on iOS or Android to find out more about how GIG helps both employers and candidates to find the right employment solution.
