CIS Excellence Lifetime Award-Winner 2015 Receives CBE Honour in Palace Ceremony

The recipient of last year’s CIS Excellence Lifetime Excellence Award, has been made CBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.
Maurice Taylor (pictured above), the founder of hotel management company, Chardon Trading, which owns and operates a portfolio of six hotels throughout Scotland, was awarded his CBE medal at an investiture ceremony last week at Edinburgh’s Holyrood Palace.
Having picked up the Lifetime Excellence Award from sponsor Braehead Foods’ Chief Executive, Craig Stevenson (pictured with Maurice, left), he received this year’s honour in recognition of his services to business and to charity.
In addition to this and other awards throughout his career, Maurice is currently Visiting Professor at the Scottish Hotel School, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Strathclyde.
Chardon Trading owns the Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland and Holiday Inn Expresses; Glasgow Theatreland, Edinburgh Royal Mile, Edinburgh Airport, Dunfermline and Perth, along with the La Bonne Auberge brasserie, in Glasgow.
