Diary Date: British Roast Dinner Week, 29/9/14 – 5/10/14

British Roast Dinner Week is to return to pubs and restaurants around the country later this year. The national promotional event, which runs from 29th September to 5th October, encourages pubs and restaurants to put roasts on the menu more often.
And in the build-up to the week-long celebration, the search is under way for Britain’s best roast dinner.
Last year’s winning establishment, Edinburgh steakhouse Kyloe, experienced a three-fold increase in roast dinner volumes after claiming the title.
The Best British Roast Dinner competition is open to all UK operators. To enter, outlets must offer a roast dinner on their menus and answer four simple questions about what makes their roast special. As well being recognised for serving Britain’s best roast, the winning establishment will scoop a host of prizes, including up to £10,000 worth of PR for their business, a day with a pub consultant, and a supply of KNORR Gravy, and Colman’s English Mustard. The closing date for entries is 22nd August, with the regional finalists announced at the end of British Roast Dinner Week.
