Edinburgh Pub Scoops Best Food Award

A pub on the outskirts of Edinburgh has scooped the ‘Best Food Pub 2014’ Award in the Yorkshire, North East & Scotland category at the Great British Pub Awards held last week at London’s Park Lane Hilton.
The Bridge Inn at Ratho was recognised for ‘the great quality of food on offer,’ according to organisers.
Owner Graham Bucknall said: ‘The whole team has worked incredibly hard to put the emphasis on locally sourced produce.
‘We rear our own pigs and lamb for the menu, as well as using vegetables from our own garden, and we’ve developed new relationships with more than 20 Scottish producers in the last year alone. ‘
Situated on the Union Canal, The Bridge Inn offers four bedrooms, two restaurant barges and a beer garden for fair weather days. This latest accolade crowns a stellar year for the business, following an AA Rosette, a place on the shortlist at the CIS Excellence Awards and as finalists in the Waitrose Food and Drink Restaurant of The Year Award 2015.
