ESS, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, collaborated with suppliers over the Christmas period to donate in excess of 10,000 meals and 300 food parcels to charitable organisations in the Aberdeen area.
Led by Culinary Director Graham Singer, volunteers from ESS prepared and distributed a selection of more than 1,200 freshly cooked dishes, ready meals and meal kit ingredients for the festive period.
In addition to this, the team also provided – with the help of a range of volunteers from 1st Stonehaven Explorer Scouts – hampers containing Christmas confectionary, festive selection boxes and staple items including soups, pasta, cooking sauces, rice, biscuits, tea and coffee.
Supply partner sponsors included Lomond Foods, JW Gray & Co, Riso Gallo S.p.A, Strachans Ltd, Benzies of Turriff, Sandwich Larder, Amity Fish Company, the Bay Fish & Chips and Ithaca Energy.
The food parcels were prepared in CHC Helicopter’s Aberdeen hangar, with CHC colleagues nominating charities to receive a share of the parcels.
Graham Singer, commented: ‘In providing these meals for people who were experiencing challenges at Christmas we were to delighted to support organisations who do fabulous work and I hope our donations bring a moment of festive cheer to the recipients.’
