FCS Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Special Guest Speaker

The Federation of Chefs Scotland (FCS) celebrated its 20th anniversary at a gala dinner held at Gleneagles earlier this week. Sponsored by Bidvest 3663, the event saw over 150 hospitality professionals from across the UK sit down to a four-course meal and keynote speech by the culinary legend, Anton Mosimann (pictured right).
During a pre-dinner drinks reception, Scottish suppliers showcased their produce to the guests, before being ushered into the grand hall for the meal. Federation president Ian MacDonald gave a welcome speech thanking those who have contributed so much to the FCS over the last two decades, and announced that Aberdeen-based Entiér Services will be providing the base and training facilities for the Scottish Culinary Team.
Richard Lochhead MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment (pictured below left, with Andrew Fairlie and Town & Country’s Laurence Robertson), also spoke about Scotland’s food initiatives and the launch of the Chefs@school programme for young people, and highlighted the opportunities for Scotland’s hospitality industry in 2015, the Year of Food and Drink.
Ian MacDonald said: ‘It has been amazing to bring together such wonderful Scottish produce and great chefs, and it gave us the opportunity to thank those who have been so crucial to the success of the organisation over the past 20 years.’
