Gleneagles Serves Up Receptionist of the Year Finalist

An employee of the CIS Excellence Award-winning Gleneagles Hotel has been shortlisted for a top hospitality award. Cameron Baxter, 20, a receptionist at the iconic Perthshire hotel, will be one of seven finalists to vie for the title at the Berkley Hotel in London next week.
The grandson of Ena Baxter – the original face behind Scottish soup company, Baxters – Cameron (pictured) is the sole Scot and only individual from outside London to be named in the shortlist for the Association of Front Office Managers UK Receptionist of the Year competition.
Since arriving at Gleneagles as a school leaver in 2014, he has successfully completed placements across every area of the hotel, including housekeeping, waiting, kitchens and reception
‘The Gleneagles team is like a big family,’ he said. ‘We all support each other and I’m continually learning from my colleagues, so reaching the final is as much about the team as it is about me.’
General manager, Paul Heery, added: ‘Facilitating five-star hospitality demands a broad skill set and high levels of professionalism, and Cameron has proven he has all these attributes in abundance.’
