CIS Excellence Awards Group Hotel of the Year sponsor, GRAM refrigeration, has announced that it has retained the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) Approved Supplier accreditation.

Recent changes to the entry criteria for becoming an SRA-approved supplier have made the process more focussed on the ethics of a particular company, rather than simply using it as a marketing tool.

Glenn Roberts, managing director of Gram UK commented: ‘We had to complete a comprehensive survey which demonstrated our ongoing commitment to providing energy-efficient, sustainable products, along with substantial evidence to back up our claims. The fact we have retained our status as an SRA-approved supplier is testament to the hard work of the team as well as our green ethos, which underpins every decision we make.’

Recognised industry-wide, an SRA approval allows suppliers to market themselves by their environmental and social responsibility credentials.

As a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient commercial refrigeration,Gram was the first manufacturer in Europe to introduce hydrocarbon refrigerants across its whole product range, along with five-year warranties on all upright and counter refrigeration units.

The company currently features more than 40 products – including the SuperiorPlus 72 (pictured) – on the Energy Technology List (ETL), which is managed by The Carbon Trust.
