Heritage Portfolio: Building On A Healthy Heritage

When planning an event, Heritage Portfolio’s designers discuss the menus with the client and talk about the healthier options available. Tasting sessions can help decision-making and provide an opportunity for the caterer to promote their healthyliving choices.
Having devised several healthier choice buffet menus for online ordering through the company’s Beetroot Blue website, food & beverage logistics manager Robin Austin is intent on promoting the healthyliving message throughout the industry: ‘We looked at the criteria for the healthyliving award and realised that our menus were already aligned in the same direction, and that we could obtain considerable recognition for what we were already doing, without having to make very many alterations to our dishes,’ he explains.
‘We’ve realised that our healthyliving award accreditation has definitely helped us to win business, especially with organisations such as the NHS, for whom healthier catering at meetings and conferences is a priority,’ he says.
‘We are already incorporating the healthy living culture and message into our dishes and in the future we hope that our current and prospective clients will recognise us for the healthier options on offer.’
