As part of his prize, Juan Pablo Colubri, a pastry chef at London’s Foundry restaurant, has scooped an all-expenses-paid trip to the World Chocolate Masters finals in Paris in October.

Speaking of his success, Juan said: ‘A trip to the World Chocolate Masters will allow me to witness the latest trends, new techniques and assemblies of chocolat. I’m so happy and really grateful to everyone who voted for my combination.’

The chef’s winning recipe beat over 50 other entries, each posted to The UK World Chocolate Masters’ Twitter page using hashtag #chocolatemasterchallenge. The top best entries were then chosen and put to a public vote on The UK World Chocolate Masters Facebook page. Over 1,000 individual votes were registered, with Juan’s creation crowned the eventual winner.

The 5th World Chocolate Masters – founded and organised by Callebaut, Cacao Barry and Carma – will see 20 world-class national winners from across the globe do battle against one and other at the Salon du Chocolat Professionnel in Paris from 28-30th October.
