A Lothians resource management company has become the latest organisaion to sign up to Zero Waste Scotland’s Resource Sector Commitment, an industry-recognised standard of quality and customer service.

Hamilton’s Waste and Recycling Ltd, a family-owned skip-hire business based in Wallyford, East Lothian, provides services to a number of local authorities and is the only reprocessor of plasterboard in Scotland.

Having added its name to the initiative ahead of the largest event in the industry’s calendar – RWM at Birmingham’s NEC in September – Hamilton’s will prove a flagbearer for Zero Waste’s Scotland’s effort to encourage more businesses to reduce waste.

Iain Gulland, Director of Zero Waste Scotland, said: ‘Signing up to the commitment is a great way for organisations to show their customers and stakeholders that they are operating at the highest level of customer service.

‘The commitment is a seal of quality for any organisation providing waste- or resource-management services to commercial customers in Scotland.

‘It gives providers the opportunity to stand out from their competitors and peers, and to gain recognition for their efforts to support the Scottish Government’s Zero Waste Plan.

‘We will be encouraging other companies to follow Hamiltons’ lead by signing up to the committment at this year’s RWM.’

Zero Waste Scotland will be exhibiting at RWM at Birmingham’s NEC, from 16th-18th September.
