One Month Today, ScotHot Kicks Off at the SECC Glasgow

Just 30 days from now, ScotHot returns to the SECC for the 42nd anniversary of Scotland’s biggest and most successful showcase for the food, drink, hospitality and tourism sectors.

This year, organisers Fresh Montgomery have assembled a stellar line-up of top chefs, speakers and culinary competitions, as well as a world-class display of innovative new kitchen equipment.

And, as it’s Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, they’ve formulated a schedule that’ll have everyone from restaurateurs and chefs to waiting staff and caterers champing at the bit to get through the doors.

To help kick things off, Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Business, Energy and Tourism (pictured below), will officially open the show as part of Scottish Tourism Week’s Signature Programme.

Speaking last December when it was announced he would do the honours, he said: ‘Last year was hugely successful for Scottish tourism, with the big sporting events shining the global spotlight on our country and providing a massive boost to our tourism economy.

‘However, with 2015 the Year of Food & Drink, we have a unique chance to build on the success of 2014 and on the long-term benefits it will bring.

‘By building a strong, high quality experience that visitors will remember, we can keep them returning to Scotland for many years to come.’

Along with the 30th Scottish Culinary Championships, which challenges chefs to create show-stopping dishes and food sculptures, visitors will be treated to a line-up of experts providing free business advice, guidance, debate and workshops on the Spotlight Stage.

Add to that the UK Barista Championships – where the country’s top coffee specialists will battle it out for a place in the world finals – and it’s clear ScotHot 2015 is set to be the biggest and most engaging event in its four-decade-long history.
