Quality Equipment Distributors (QED) has announced the completed installation of a modular coffee shop at a client’s new European headquarters in Glasgow.

The kitchen, coffee shop and snack bar were designed with the aim of attracting management, staff and visitors to the building.

As the manager explains: ‘We wanted a modular system that was as good as a custom-built solution, and were fortunate to receive the ideal proposal from QED.

‘The use of a rustic, natural wood finish for the fascia of the counters was an important consideration for us, as we wanted it to be in harmony with our organic principles.’

‘QED’s Robert Campbell and his team worked closely with us to come up with a design specification and CAD drawing that was true to our vision, and the end result is both stylish and practical.’

The equipment that QED supplied is from their exclusive Continental Coffee Shop System and includes a drop-in patisserie counter with front-and-rear sliding doors. Together with matching bar modules, the units are clad in distressed, reclaimed wood with granite and wooden worktops.

Eau de Vie Multitap Drinking Water System

Meanwhile, behind the counters, QED installed a compact kitchen facility (pictured left), which includes stainless steel sinks, worktops, a dishwasher and coffee machine. A special feature of the kitchen area is an Eau de Vie Multitap drinking water system (right), which dispenses filtered, chilled still or sparkling water, together with hot water for hot drinks, all from one easy-to-operate tap.

The manager continues: ‘The kitchen and coffee shop is not simply a place for people to eat and drink; it also serves as a useful space for relaxed meetings, where ideas can be discussed and developed in less formal surroundings than in the office environment.

‘To this end, we are very satisfied with the facility that QED has helped us to create.’
