The Livingston-based equipment supplier was contacted last year by the hotel’s maintenance manager, Stephen Harris, and was tasked with fitting the new appliance – which is capable of dealing with 300 breakfast covers at a time – the week before last Christmas.

ScoMac’s David Nisbet explains: We were keen to promote Meiko as a suitable solution, and after carrying out a site survey of the existing installation, notes were forwarded to Meiko’s sales director for Scotland to request his assistance in identifying the most suitable model.

‘In the event, a K200KVP rack-transport conveyor with a heat-recovery condensing unit was specified, mainly because it offered an increase in capacity while also reducing the energy consumption.

‘Delivery and installation took approximately four days and the job went live on 21st December, just in time for the Christmas and New Year period.

‘Savings on fresh water, detergent and rinse aid consumption were additional key factors, and since installation the wash results have proved first class.’
