Scotland Food & Drink Appoints Membership Director

Scotland Food & Drink has appointed Rachel Athey to the new post of Membership & Commercial Director.
Athey (pictured) joins industry leadership organisation following ten years at Marie Curie. She began her career at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where she sought to increase the number of venues available while improving the experience of performers.
Scotland Food & Drink Chief Executive James Withers commented: ‘We need to constantly develop our support for our 360-odd members.
‘Rachel industry experience will strengthen our work as an organisation, building on our existing support and leadership for the industry as well as identifying opportunities to develop new services and partnerships.
Ms Athey added: ‘With a value of £14bn annually and growing, food and drink is central to Scotland’s economic success. Working with partners, Scotland Food & Drink supports the growth ambitions of businesses across the four corners of the country. This role presents a great opportunity to further develop both what the organisation offers its members and how we work with commercial partners to deliver on the industry’s growth ambitions.’
