Scottish Chefs Conference Host Drops in on Sodexo Bake-Off

Former CIS Excellence Awards Chef of the Year winner, Willie Pike MBE, took time out this week to drop in on a Sodexo Prestige event at Perth Racecourse to host a cookery demonstration.

Aiming to showcase employees’ skills across all areas of the business, the event saw over 100 entrants take part in numerous bake-offs and cookery challenges.

Guest of honour, Pike (pictured) – who is famed for his sugar crafting and world-class desserts – took time out from organising the forthcoming Scottish Chefs Conference to show off his skills to the assembled delegates.

Stephen Frost, Executive Chef for Sodexo Prestige in Scotland, said: ‘It’s a real honour to have Willie attend this year’s annual Salon Culinaire event, and we greatly appreciate the skill and talent he possesses.’

 Challenges included soup- and coffee-making competitions, a jam, chutneys and preserves contest, and a street food challenge. The judging panel included David Mulcahy, Stephen Frost,  Tom Beauchamp and Mark Barker.
