Nationwide water supplier, Thames Water Commercial Services (TWCS), has head-hunted a team of business development specialists to help the company expand within the Scottish water market.

Enabling the firm to target a greater share of the £330m non-household water retail market, the new staff employees include:

  • Strategic Accounts Manager, Peter Callaghan
  • Broker and Intermediary Account Manager, Garry Temple
  • Business Development Managers Kevin Durnian and Jamie McDonald, for the East and West of Scotland respectively

Alan Munro (pictured below), who heads up the Scottish team, believes the experience and proven track records of the new recruits will help the company achieve its target for 2015: ‘Since 2008, when the retail water sector in Scotland was opened to competition, around 130,000 non-household customers have been able to choose who supplies their water and waste-water services,’ he explains.

‘With this in mind, we are aiming to offer business customers potential cost savings of up to 20 percent, in addition to an improved service.’

With more than 600 Scottish sites, TWCS is now aiming to double the number of business customers by delivering cheaper water and waste-water solutions.

Part of the Thames Water Group, which serves over 15m customers in London and the Thames Valley, TWCS has attracted a customer base across banking, finance, hotels, leisure, commercial, and the education and retail sectors since launching its Scottish operations at the end of 2013.
