Brakes Scotland has signed a deal with a major Scottish supplier of dairy produce to provide milk, butter, cream, cheese, yogurt and other products to customers across Scotland.

From 4th April, the CIS Excellence Junior Chef of the Year sponsor will start supplying Graham’s The Family Dairy’s range to its 6,000 customers across Scotland.

The deal marks Graham’s second major new relationship in less than two months, following the announcement of their deal to exclusively supply milk to all Starbucks stores in Scotland from January.

Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment, Richard Lochhead, joined Robert Graham, MD of Graham’s (pictured far left) and Brakes Scotland’s John Mclintock (centre), to celebrate the partnership at the company’s dairy in Bridge of Allan.

Robert Graham, Managing Director of Graham’s The Family Dairy, said: ‘We are so pleased to partner with Brakes Scotland to supply their customers across Scotland.

‘They see the value in investing in local businesses which retain a focus on high quality produce with strong local provenance, and this was one of the key factors that attracted us to working with them.’

Operations Director for Brakes Scotland, John Mclintock, added:’We previously bought milk from a processor in England and therefore couldn’t guarantee that we would supply purely Scottish milk to our customers north of the Border.

‘Through customer feedback, we’ve learned that our customers are interested in Graham’s milk and their other product lines, most notably for their provenance and taste.

‘For us it made perfect sense to join up with a company where the supply of quality, local milk could be guaranteed and where we could actively reduce food miles whilst supporting Scottish Dairy farmers.’

With over 60 Scottish suppliers serving more than 6,000 customers, Brakes Scotland operates from four sites in Inverness, Oban, Dundee and Newhouse and offers customers a multi-temperature service which includes over 340 Scottish product lines.
